1. Reid Jamieson live — Regina and Forget, Sask.

Vancouver’s Reid Jamieson is a regular on CBC’s Vinyl Cafe and winner of the grand prize for folk in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest. Juniper's Kitchen is his latest CD and he will performing songs from it.

His albums feature guests Sarah Harmer and Samantha Parton (Be Good Tanyas). He recently recorded and performed with the Cowboy Junkies, and did a duet with Margo Timmins as part of an album he is working on for 2015.

Friday at the Artful Dodger in Regina. Doors open at 7 p.m. CST and the show starts at 8 p.m. CST.

Saturday at the Happy Nun Café in Forget, Sask.

2. One Act Plays — Regina

The Regina Little Theatre is presenting one-act plays — a comedy, two dramas and a dramedy — at the Regina Performing Arts Centre (1077 Angus St.).

Doors open on Friday and Saturday at 6:30 p.m. CST and the shows begin at 7:30 p.m. CST. Prizes awarded to audience members for the best Halloween costume.

3. The Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra presents The Phantom of the Opera — Saskatoon

The Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra is presenting one of the greatest horror movies of all time this weekend in one of the most unique concert series in Canada. The Silence is Golden Silent Film series features the 1925 original Phantom of the Opera.

There are two shows at the Roxy Theatre on Saturday, the first at 1 p.m. CST and another at 7:30 p.m. CST. Tickets should be purchased online in advance of the performance.

4. Monsters, Masks & Mounties — Regina

The RCMP Heritage Centre is hosting a costume exchange as part of its annual Monsters, Masks & Mounties Halloween event.

Families are welcome to trade in their children’s old, gently used Halloween costume from previous years and pick up a new one. Any costumes left over at the end of the event will be donated to a local charity.

Other activities include a Hall of Horrors, spooky games and crafts, costume parades, trick or treating and a spooky science show. This fun-filled, educational afternoon for families will focus on having fun while being safe this Halloween.

The event runs from noon to 4 p.m. CST on Saturday. Costume parades are at 1:20 and 3:00 p.m. CST. The Spooky Science Show is at at 2 p.m. CST

It takes place at the RCMP Heritage Centre (5907 Dewdney Avenue).

5. Halloween ComicFest — Saskatoon and Regina

Each year, Halloween ComicFest is celebrated at your local comic shop the Saturday before Halloween. On this day, you can walk into any participating comic shop and get a free Halloween ComicFest comic.
There are 19 free comics available to choose from that are great for readers of all ages. Titles include, Scooby Doo and Batman Team Up, Marvel Secret Wars, My Little Pony, Afterlife with Archie, Angry Birds and Plants vs. Zombies.

6. Maps, Maps and More Maps! Genealogy Workshop — Regina

Maps, Maps and More Maps! is a genealogy workshop taking place at the Regina Public Library Film Theatre, at the Central Library Branch, from 10 a.m. to noon CST.

Maps are more than just pieces of paper or digital printouts to help get you from point A to point B. In many cases, maps can provide invaluable research clues for genealogists.

Join Pat Ryan, certified genealogy instructor, as she demonstrates where to look for the maps, how to decode the information on them, and shares tips on how to use these research tools more effectively.

Beginners and advanced researchers welcome.

7. Freddie and Sheila Pelletier — Hudson Bay, Sask.

The Hudson Bay Allied Arts Council presents The Pelletiers. Freddie and Sheila Pelletier call Birch Hills home but entertain across Canada during the summer, as well as holding an annual Guitar and Music camp. Winters see them performing for Snowbirds in the Southern U.S.

You are invited to an evening with music genres that include classic country, bluegrass, gospel, and 50s/60s rock.

Show starts at 7:30 p.m. CST in the Hudson Bay High School drama area.

8. The Blue Dot Tour with David Suzuki and Friends — Saskatoon

On his last national tour, David Suzuki shares the wisdom of a life full of action and celebrates Canadians who are standing up for the people and places they love. A special evening of inspiration, music and learning.

Special guests include Jim Cuddy, Greg Keelor and Royal Wood. The show takes place at TCU Place at 7 p.m. on Sunday.

9. United Church Fowl Supper — Milestone, Sask.

The United Church Fowl Supper takes place at the Milestone Rink. It goes from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. CST

Tickets can be bought at the door: Adults are $12; students from five to 10 years old are $6; and four and under are free.

10 . The AndersonBurko Band album release concert

The AndersonBurko Band will be releasing their third CD at The Broadway Theatre at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Roy Anderson and Darrell Burko also launched their debut CD, 'Enjoy the Show,' at the Broadway in 2009.

The AndersonBurko Band will be joined on the Broadway stage by an incredible mix of Saskatchewan talent, including Luke Goetz (Deep Dark Woods) on pedal steel, Veronique Poulin (The Young Benjamins) on fiddle, Alison Whelan (Carbon Dating Service) on vocals, and Don Griffith (too many bands to mention) on keys.
