Canada Border Services agents have arrested five people in eastern Newfoundland for working in the country without authorization.
In a statement, the CBSA says they were arrested Thursday in Chapel Arm, after an ongoing investigation.
Chapel Arm is 100 kilometres west of St. John's, on the western part of the Avalon Peninsula.
The investigation was carried out under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
The five are still in custody.
The CBSA has not released any further details, including where they were working.
