Sandra, thank you for your words. I can't help but feel they should be directed to all members of the CF. Unlike other professions, most people join the CF to make the world a better place. Given that this fallen hero was a medic, you can easily picture him rushing to the aid of the other injured soldier when his number came up. Our sincerest condolences to this brave man's family.

Way to go Thomas B. I have never served, but I do believe that if you sign up in the military it is probably going to mean that you serve as a militarist (if there is such a word LOL). When I watch the shows to see what you people have done for those less fortunate, I salute you. I so feel for the people left at home. To all of us, keep SAFE.

Doncor, while I share the pain you feel I have also seen first hand the wonderful work being done overseas by our troops. The mission they have is far too important to the people of Afghanistan to abandon them now. We in uniform know all too well the sacrifices we are asked to make and the risks we take to help improve the lives of those less fortunate then we are. To "pull pole" and head home now would only leave the job half done and dishonour those who have had their lives taken from them.

While I appreciate your concern for the members of the CF I feel you have no clue as to what it is we are accomplishing over there. There is not a single man there who is not a volunteer. It is one of the questions on the DAG (a screening prior to selection). While I was there we built schools, enabling girls to finally earn an education. We built a highway so that farmers could get their "valid" crops to market. We made a difference. This young man died a hero. His life means something. RIP

This mission is a senseless waste of Canadian lives.

For heavens sake, please bring our men & women home while they are still alive. I will pray for your safe return. We don't want any more to come home in body bags. It hurts too much.
