I don't believe she can be rehabilitated. I also think things like this are going to continue to become more frequent until we admit and address what it is about our society that continues to create such disassociated youth. The problem at its core is, I think, that we do know many things that contribute to such behaviour, but we are entirely unwillling, or feel unable, to change our world. So get used to it, and to a point, are they to blame, or us?
She might be going to prison for a max of 9 years but she'll be eligible for parole after 1/4 of her sentence. So essentially she'll be out in 2 and a half years, I don't care what her background is it's a travesty.
So she really is getting an 9 year sentence for murder. What a croc of bs, this country makes me want to puke. I mean exactly how much more violent of crime does it have to be for the criminal to get a punishment that fits the crime. This girl helped in the beating, raping and murdering of this girl and she is out in less than 10 years from conviction. Absolutely disgusting. I feel so sorry for the families loss and the insult of this conviction. Hope your life sucks Stephanie Bird!!!
what is wrong with the children today!something sick or wrong with are society , when children today is killing,doing these volent crime ,like robbing and killing,where are the parent today!why are parents around teaching their children right from wrong, these children are killing with no remorse!to many children are so screw up today!
Its time Canada bring back Capital Punishment and enough of these useless human beings we are paying our tax dollars to keep them alive and in prison. Regardless of any age, we shall not feel sorry or sypathize towards these criminals. If these idiots are capable of murder at a young age, they are capable of anything to this point. They murder because they can. Canada allows them to because our "system" sypathises for their empty mental minds, and keeps them alive. Money feeds the system.
Our justice system is not about justice. It spends too much effort on rehabilitation. This person has no remorse and therefore cannot be rehabilitated. It costs a fortune to send them to the chair and a fortune to keep them fed, clothed, and healthy in prison. Still I think we need to pay the taxes and do something. More importantly the victim must be protected. Keep them jailed with mandatory work, I see nothing wrong with the chain gain, except the unions will complain it is taking their jobs
