There is no reason to believe the iFone will perform any better. Zombie consumers will queue up to be ripped off.

I've stayed away from iPods for a couple of reasons. One, they are sort of like McDonald's--everywhere. Also, I do think they are over-rated. They are all flash, but no better than so many other players that deliver just as well or better. Finally, Apple made a deal with the Beatles not to sell music under the Apple name and then went on to break their promise. Sir Paul and co. may not need the money, but it is the principle that matters.

I prefer my RCA Lyra Pearl - it has an excellent quality playback it holds two gigs [is also expandable] and has an exceptionally great voice recorder - and here is the good part - it takes only 1 AAA [i use Duracell 15 min rechargeables] - when the AAA craps out - it is replaceable - also - Ipod is quite useless for real MP3 music. Ipod: over priced and over rated. Too many people buy them as a 'status symbol' first and as a music player second.

I hope that this isn't a waste of our corporate justice system. There is little consumer protection these days. My wife and I were hoodwinked by Apple in 2006. We bought a 60-gig iPhoto to store our photos on while travelling (no access to computers) and since returning to Canada, we cannot access any of our over 2000 photos as we have a 'corrupt file'. The Apple store in Toronto told us to wipe out our hard drive and re-format it, thus losing all of our photos...thanks for the help Apple!

Yeh;Right; and how many people have their receipt from 2004. My son teenage son worked his butt off and saved for 6 monthe to get one of these and it crapped out after 90 days. We finally gave up trying to get satisfaction for him. We got the runaround - stonewalled and insulted. This family will never again buy any 'Apple' product.
