TORONTO - Public funds will be squandered and the privacy of Canadians will be endangered if Ottawa doesn't pass on citizenship information to provinces that want to offer high-tech drivers' licences as an alternative to passports in crossing the Canada-U.S. border, Ontario's information and privacy commissioner warned Wednesday.
