The American economy is collapsing. By holding interest rates firm, the message is that Canadians will not go down with a sinking ship.

We have been shielded here in Canada against the rising cost of food unlike most other countries especially those in Europe where butter has gone up 65pc in one year and gas at nearly twice the price it is here in Canada. I am probably the only person in Canada who is not moaning about the price of gas. The biggest joke is people who drive SUVs complaining about the price of gas. If you dont like it sell the gas gussler. Its as smple as that and doesnt take a moron to figure it out.

It's time Canadians start buying local (food from farmer's markets, stores that sell Canadian grown foods, heck why not try growing your own veggies!). We also need to stop shopping over the river and keep more jobs here in Canada.

I live and work in Korea. After I got off the phone with my mother, she told me that the cost of a loaf of bread in Canada is at $3 minimum. Here in Korea I am able to by bread for as low as $1.60 or even cheaper. Let's see if Canada can beat that. After all, Canadians have taken things for granted so much as a result of our consumerist gluttony that now we are feeling the pinch like several people in develloping countries.

What benefit is it to Canadians to have the Bank of Canada lower interest rates, when it is only for the benefit of the big banks (not lowering the rates to consumers)?. When it is all said and done, it is us the average joe that pays the taxes, and does the spending to keep this country going - what benefit is it to the banks that pay no tax!? When are we going to wake up and revolt against this travesty that is pushed down our throats every day.

Good now is the time to stop Foreign Aid, stop supporting refugees in this country and stop letting them in, AND stop spending money on that war. START RUNNING THIS COUNTRY FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE COUNTRY. This government is turning Canada into a 3rd world nation

Hey jerks. Quit knocking the boomers. The USA is running and screwing up the world. All the world dollars are based on he damn US dollar. If all is good in the US then the world ecomony is good. Our dollar yeras ago was mre than the US dollar and Canada was in good shape. When our dollar started to drop our governments started to let the yanks in to buy up our industries. If our government had balls hen they would tell the yanks to screw off and build Canada to lead the world economy. RIGHT?
