Killing gov't information registries, cheating within elections, bribery of a dying MP, firing nuclear regulators, blasted by Gomery for ignoring accountability promises, hiding knowledge of Mulroney scandal, near deficit spending.. That's a lot of alleged misbehaviour.. What has this government accomplished? A GST cut "blasted" by economists, huge.. Huge amounts of unspoken military spending.. Pollution levels completely unmanaged (and far worse to come).. No vision.. No progress..

Thank God it is still possible to post via the Internet. And that is something that must be protected also. So long as we let them put up smoke screens to hide behind, most of us will never know what we have had and lost. This decision was made and signed by a person and it will be interesting to see if Mr. Makichuk is where the buck stops... And is Harper doing what his masters say or is he one of the vanguard?

Baphomet, Stevies policies do discriminate. In this case, against women, single mothers or working married ones. Learn your politics. Coup against the government. You mean like the one where he ignored regulations on spending to get the prime-minister position in the first place? Like that? Or the fact that Canada, a peace keeping nation historically and with world respect is now active in another war? It's the beginning and you are too blind to see it. Open your eyes.

Crap, more Harper corruption. What a guy, that Stevie is. This guy is dragging back a country by decades each year he's in power. And his political tactics continue to remind me of the type of stiffling and propaganda, the corruption and the lies that Germany had under Hitler.

Lobokitch, the accountability act is a sham. It purports to protect whistleblowers, but in fact makes it harder to be one. Secondly, if you had actually read the article, work was in progress in making the database available to the public. In the meantime, it was available to the kinds of professionals who actually spend the time and have the expertise to keep abreast of the government while the rest of us go on with our little lives.

It's got nothing to do with conspiracy. This is a reduction in the transparency of government. It isn't a conspiracy, but it is a consistent trend with the current government. Harper has no respect for true, participatory democracy. That would involve allowing others to have an ability to shape our country. Harper doesn't like to share the reins. You devoted Harper-lovers can use all the purient, grade five insults all you want, the fact remains Harper whittling away at OUR democracy.
