Monarchy has been relegated to a bunch of wealthy people with figurehead status here. No wonder Conservatives kiss their royal behinds, they gots cash.
I have followed the Royals ever since Her Majesty was a small child. Yes, I have seen Prince Charles on many, many occasions - Remembrance day in Ottawa was the first time that I have seen emotion. Prince Charles was fighting Tears and it truly touched me - and I was very grateful to have seen that. God bless the Monarchy !
No disrespect to the military, but these two have as much military capital as my ‘you know what’ know how to suck apple butter. Military focus my wazoo!
So, was it worth it? Bottom line: is it really worth it? in cost, time, effort, results, hazard, risk, disruption, stress and anguish, to name a few? Most people would say a resounding NO! And in the end, will it make a difference? Except for a few memories, probably not.
