Dear Ralph. That comment was awefully bigotted. What does the city of Toronto have to do with this story? I guess people like you, who cleary reside on the extreme left, can only use comments like that to justify your b.s attitude. Most people in the city are polite, open-minded and as Liberal as you'll find. Just look at the last election results. It's generally out-of-towners, like you, who make this city seem uptight 'cause your afraid of the "big city people." Get a life and please stay home

To those who think poor Timmys they are loosing money you must be kidding.Owning a Tims is a license to print money so dont worry about their bottom lines!! Secondly I am very glad the employee got her job back as what a huge lack of supervisory skills this manager showed for a 15cent 1 time Timbit. I guess Tim Hortons manager training comes in the form of a 3 page handout then boom you are qualified!

i think it's time we put aside all this sh_t about how Tim Hortons lost that bit of profit from their tills. have we become so cold & hard-hearted that we have forgotten about compassion, human relations & showing that maybe there's more important things in life. when life is all over, no one is gonnna give a sh_t about how much money you made or in some cases, even who you are. the only thing they'll remember is what good you did for others.

It doesn't matter that Tim Horton's is a business you cold hearted unsympathetic freak. Its wrong to fire anyone in this situation. The punishment doesn't fit the crime. However I know and understand people of your right wing Toronto persuasion.

If it's true that she is/was earning $9.00 an hour - and AFTER THREE YEARS no less, that is/was the real injustice, and the real story. Does anyone at Tim Horton's know what century we're in? All the abuse Reebok took for the wages it pays in Third World countries, and meanwhile we have employers in Canada who would put Simon Legree to shame. In 2008, the MINIMUM WAGE should be $10.00 an hour (or the equivalent) in any civilized country - and yes that includes Canada.

I have heard through news media that Tim Horton's do give free coffee and donuts to emergency personel such as police and firemen, etc, so what is the problem with giving a timbit to an infant to calm it down. This child could be their next Timbit hockey player. So much for their work with children's sports. Firing someone over giving a child a timbit is not a good thing to do. Looks like their PR work is done for adults instead of the kids whom they supposedly support through sports.
