going to tim hortons drive thru my dog is given tim bits in lindsay on. On a regular basis all he does is stick his head out the window and he gets a treat... now being a 120lbs rottweiller might have a little something to do with it, but what happened to this single mother is unbelievable, make me wonder what action was taken with the "overzealous" manager if any.

Please don't shoot the messenger but couldn't you make the argument that theft is theft whether is is a 16 cent timbit or not? I know she said it was busy but couldn't she have gotten the change out of her purse when it slowed down? Also, does it matter that she is a single mother? Would it be better if it was a student or a retiree? We all make choices....

I wonder if Tim Hortons would have scrambled to rectify the situation had this case not become so widespread in the media, and they heard first hand the disgust in their customers for such an extreme action. Of course they wouldn't have... My husband and I have decided to stop continuing being customers of Tim Horton's, a supposed family oriented chain... not because of what happened to this woman, but for the belief that nothing would have been done had it not been for the media circus.

Ah, greed for profits continues to eat at our civility. This woman should have been given a promotion. I'm always amazed at how greed affects people and this is one of the best stories pertaining to this topic. Tim Hortons should be considered like cigarettes, the health implications that this company will have over the next 10 yrs on the population of Canada will probably far exceed second hand smoke. Canada is turning into a fat country and kids shouldn't be eating this crap anyway

Does anybody know the starting of the Tim Hortons branches?? Really I do not think that Tim Horton wanted his stores to be run like that over a timbit he loved children and am sure he would have given away just more then one timbit. What is going on bad managers like that should be "fired" and the stores should be run in harmony with customers service in mind over all. I used to work at tim hortons loving my job "the people" service WORK TOGETHER PEOPLE start giving away some timbits WIN .LD

There is an example of what happens when somebody gets promoted way over thier head. Did she not sue for wrongful dismissal? A lot of these retail managers think too high of themselves.

I'm curious what really happened here. Did the manager just not like the employee and found a really weak excuse to fire her ? Was this just the tip of the iceberg for the employee's behaviour - was this the 10th time she did something like this ? Or quite possibly the manager is overzealous. Aside from ethical issues, aside from the danger of bad p.r., out of self-interest and employee morale, you DON'T do that sort of thing.

Tims is King of the hill for now,but won't be the flovour of the week in the years to come.I thought most Tims employee's were bitter min wage people anyway.They must of given that shift supervisor a promotion....lol
