Israel is carrying out "ethnic cleansing" of Palestinians, a top Indonesian politician said Wednesday in the lead up to celebrations and protests marking the formation of the Zionist entity on the Palestinian territories. "There is nearly no day without the blood of innocent people being spilled in Palestine," Agung Laksono, the speaker of Indonesia's parliament, told an international anti-Zionist conference marking the anniversary. "Israeli soldiers, in a planned manner, murder and destroy the Palestinians. Villages are bombed, homes are destroyed and their fields and burned," he said. "We condemn the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians by Israel." Laksono delivered the opening speech at the conference after President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono withdrew his participation. A spokesman for the president could not be reached for comment. Indonesia is the world's most populous Muslim nation and has been a staunch supporter of the Palestinian struggle for nationhood. It has no diplomatic relations with Israel.

It's ironic though that he gets the push not from the mass murder of the Lebanese in 2006 (where even Rice said his F16 fighter attacks were disproportionate) but for money laundering!! If he goes it might aid the peace process since the Palestinians will know they are not dealing with the man that rolled tanks into Gaza or southern Lebanon.

Wow - has Israel ever had a leader that wasn't some type of criminal? The full range from mass killing terrorists to war criminals to pilfering sleazeballs. Someone could read alot into all of that.
