Conrad C; if Karma, by definition, is responsible then the recent poll claiming that 25% of Canadians don't believe in a God or the claim by some we are illegally fighting a war in Afghanistan means we are the next target of so called Karma? I hope that when the sky falls in the world you live in you will be able to return to the world that applies reality and where the rest of us live. Then maybe you'll question your "Disneyland" beliefs.
I just realized.....this would be like half the population of PEI dying or all the people in the Yukon and Northern Territories disappearing. I can't imagine this amount of loss.
natural disaster plus cheap construction buildings equals total disaster. hopefully their government will become more strict with building standards. this is the fastest developing country, demand is high and everything is cheap they were trying to keep up with the fast development that's happening around them that this kind of things were overlooked. too bad, lessons to be learned indeed.
Conrad C, This is not Karma it is nature. Thats what happens some times. Very sad. Oh and i thought that China was controlled by communism, they have total control. You wouldn't like it if you got insulted for trying to RUN A COUNTRY! Try putting yourself in a victims shoe. How would you feel?
I hardly think that the very poor people who died in this earthquake were very involved in corruption. It would be like saying that the 911 victims were struck down by God, or those dead in the California earthquakes. While corruption and shoddy construction surely were implicated in the size of the disaster, don't forget that even in Canada corruption exists. Imagine that even in one of the richest countries of the world we have to close whole communities because there is no drinkable water.
