Air Canada confirms bomb threat called into Saint John

The Saint John Airport is the latest to report a bomb threat called in about an Air Canada flight.

David Allen, the chief executive officer of the Saint John Airport, confirmed a commissionaire with the airport authority received a threat about an Air Canada flight travelling from Halifax to Toronto on July 1.

Allen said the proper authorities are looking into the incident.

Peter Fitzpatrick, a spokesperson for Air Canada, said the company's security experts determined the threat was not credible.

"Beyond that I have no information to provide as we do not discuss our security protocols as this might compromise them," he said.

This is the latest in a series of hoax bomb threats that have been made against Air Canada and WestJet.

Air Canada has been the target of two hoaxes.

Meanwhile, five WestJet planes were targeted by hoax threats, including one on Thursday night on a flight from Las Vegas to Victoria.

No explosives were found on any of the aircraft.
