Assumption fire intentionally set, fire officials say

A large fire on Assumption Street that burned through two separate homes between Marentette and Parent Avenues Monday was intentionally, Windsor fire officials say.

Investigators were on scene again Wednesday using an excavator to help figure out the cause. They determined the fire was intentionally set at 833/835 Assumption St.



Fire crews spent several hours getting the blaze under control at the multi-unit house.

Firefighters were also at 839 Assumption St., the home next door that had also caught on fire.

Officials said the damage at for both incidents is about $500,000.

No one was injured in the fires.
