    Bartschi with three points to lead the Winterhawks over the Chiefs 8-3

    PORTLAND, Ore. - Sven Bartschi scored once and added two assists as the Portland Winterhawks defeated the visiting Spokane Chiefs 8-3 on Friday in Western Hockey League action.

    Ty Rattie and Taylor Peters had a goal and an assist each for the Winterhawks (43-15-3), who have won nine straight games, while Oliver Gabriel, Joey Baker, Marcel Noebels, Brendan Leipsic and Nicolas Petan scored a goal apiece.

    Liam Stewart, Mitch Holmberg and Dominik Uher scored for the Chiefs (32-21-7).

    Mac Carruth made 31 saves for the win while Mac Engel allowed seven goals on 32 shots before being pulled in the third period.

    Eric Williams stopped four of five shots in relief.

    Portland went 2 for 3 on the power play as Spokane failed to score on four opportunities with the man advantage.
