Hopefuls wanting a spot on the Canadian version of a reality television series auditioned on Sunday in Calgary.
Potential contestants lined up around the block outside the Sheraton Eau Claire hotel for a chance to appear on Big Brother Canada, a show that is coming to the television channel Slice this winter.
The show puts a group of strangers in a house and films them as they kick out one contestant every week.
Steve Hrynchuk said he hoped to make it on the show. “I party all the time [and] I've watched big brother pretty much every season.”
Calgary is just one of five stops in the show's Canadian casting tour.
“We want dynamic outgoing romantics. Maybe, you know, a little bit of plotting and planning, that kind of thing. All kinds of people that will all end up together in the house,” said Sue Brophey, a producer with Insight Productions.
The winner of Big Brother Canada will take home $100,000.
