Perez Hilton is usually spreading stories about other celebrities, but this time he's the story. On Wednesday, the 34-year-old Perez (real name: Mario Lavandeira) posted a photo on his website of himself cradling his newborn baby.
"I want you to hear this directly from me, right here," the celebrity blogger wrote. "I am ready to announce that earlier this month I was blessed with the birth of my first child, a beautiful and healthy baby boy -- with lots of hair on his tiny head!"

Perez is reportedly single at the moment, but he did not provide any further details about the birth. However, he did add, "I am so humbled to welcome this little man into my life. And I am honored and ready for the challenge of guiding him through his."
Back in 2011, after writing the children's book "The Boy with Pink Hair," Perez expressed his desire to have children of his own.
"I am emotionally ready now, but I’m just not ready in terms of having enough time," he told The Advocate. "When I make the decision to have a child, I plan to be very involved and hands-on. I can’t be an absentee father."
He added that he didn't think he needed a partner to raise his future child.
"I just need to do what feels right for me and not worry about variables that I can’t control," he said. "Having children is something I can control — I can adopt or have a donor and a carrier — but I can’t control having a partner."
Despite the fact that the new dad has made his name snarking about celebrities, Perez had his fair share of Hollywood supporters after announcing his family's new addition.
"Welcome to the club @PerezHilton Sooo happy for u! #babyperez," tweeted Jenny McCarthy.
Denise Richards followed this up with the tweet, " Congrats daddy!!! Beyond thrilled for u. Welcome to the club....xo“
Gay singer Ricky Martin, who has twins by a surrogate, also congratulated the blogger. "Hey!!! Congratulations Mr. I am very happy for you! Love and light!" he wrote.
Not to mention Canadian "America's Next Top Model" alum Jay Manuel, who tweeted, "OMG Papa!!!! Congrats! I'm sure every1 has been flooding U with messages! Get ready… the real journey begins! xo"

Of course, what would a Perez party be without his namesake weighing in?
"Congratulations @PerezHilton on your new son," tweeted Paris Hilton. "Such exciting news, so happy for you! :) Love Paris"
In response to the outpouring of support, Perez asked that instead of sending gifts, his fans send donations to VH1 Save the Music Foundation and the Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network.
"Overwhelmed by your sweet messages of support!" he tweeted. "I keep bursting out in tears of joy! THANK YOU for sending us so much love!"
