Angry pheasant launches repeated attacks against elderly British couple

The birds, they are starting to behave strangely...

A real-life version of Alfred Hitchcock's film, The Birds, is playing out in a village in Shropshire, England, according to the Telegraph.

A woman says her family is constantly under attack by an irritable pheasant.

The bird has directed its rage at Sally-Ann Hudson and her family, stalking her through the windows of her home, slamming into the glass, and regularly pecking at her family as they come and go, the story says.

So far, it hasn't built a slingshot to fling itself at the house like in the popular mobile phone game, Angry Birds.

In a video by the Telegraph, Hudson shows her latest strategy to appease the violent pheasant — feeding it cornbread. Hudson says she is trying to befriend the bird, who she calls Phil, in an effort to stop him from behaving angrily.

Phil doesn't seem to appreciate friends.

He eats the bread and then proceeds to attack her arm anyway. Hudson says she carries a badminton racket to fend him off but she is careful not to hurt him.

Comments on social media suggest it might be less frustrating to relocate the pheasant or else take revenge.

"Pheasant pie anyone?" one comment said.
