‘Bottom Percussion’ drummer uses strange instrument to make music

Music is everywhere, a Spanish band would like to remind you this week, including the bottoms of four nearly-nude women.

Percussionist Jorge Pérez Gonzalez of the band patáx uploaded a video last week of him drumming on women who were bent over in front of him wearing thongs. The beat was set to their song 'Bottom Percussion.'

The video has been viewed more than 2.5 million times on YouTube.

Using partially clad women's butts to advertise your music is nothing every rap video hasn't done twice but those at the Irish men's lifestyle website Joe say they wouldn't mind "having a go" at the bottom percussion.

"It's man stuff," — at least according to Joe's slogan.

Sexist or not, the unusual choice of instrument has led the video to go viral.

Others have used bodies as percussion instruments before, for example, performer Keith Terry regularly uses his own body as a musical instrument, including his bottom, as he teaches in an instructional video from a few years ago.

In fact, there's an entire International Body Music Festival each year.

Still, when it comes to proving that music is everywhere, Bottom Percussion doesn't stand up to the likes of Stomp! playing music while suspended from scaffolding.
