Curious bird snatches egg camera and captures penguin colony from the air

A curious bird grabbed an egg camera and provided stunning footage of a penguin colony.

Another week, another bird selfie.

Last month, a sea eagle stole a camera and managed to record its entire 110-kilometre journey across Western Australia.

Days later, a Gentoo penguin's selfie terrified everyone.

And now a Straited Caracara is providing us with some pretty impressive footage of a penguin colony.

The bird of prey recently snatched an egg camera and took it for a tour of the area he calls home.

(No word on whether he'll be at the Academy Awards in March to accept his "Best Aerial Shot of a Penguin Colony Taken By a Bird" award, but apparently he's the first feathered cinematographer to capture that particular area on camera.)

The flying filmmaker eventually dropped the camera, which was later discovered by some curious, less-artistic vultures.
