Drunk groom arrested for fighting with bride en route to honeymoon

Ahhh … the honeymoon. Usually this when the lucky couple takes off after the wedding for the most romantic week of their life together.

This couple did it a little differently.

On route a flight from Atlanta to Costa Rica, the destination for this couple’s honeymoon, the groom started a drunken argument with his new bride, on the plane. The man was so drunk and intolerable, he was kicked off the plane.

Word of advice to the bride here: If you can’t even make it to the honeymoon without arguing, you may want to take a step back and re-evaluate some things.

The groom got so out of control, the Delta Airlines aircraft had to make an emergency landing on Grand Cayman Island.

Upon landing at the airport, police escorted the groom from the flight to a custody room. According to Royal Cayman Islands Chief Inspector, Raymond Christian, the groom was charged with drunk and disorderly conduct, and could also face further charges under the international air laws.

The best part of this story though, is the fact that the bride stayed on the flight. With her new hubby in police custody, she enjoyed the rest of her flight on her way to paradise.

Delta Airlines spokeswoman Lindsay McDuff confirmed that the reason the aircraft was forced to land was because of a ‘disruptive customer.’

This is the second time in just over a month that this airline had to perform an emergency landing because of drunken passengers. On Feb. 7, officials on a flight from Baltimore to Salt Lake City described a woman on board as being intoxicated and unruly. They were forced to perform an emergency landing to escort the drunken passenger off the flight.

Maybe it’s about time Delta raised the on-board drink prices.
