The holiday season is upon us, and it's time to be ... terrified.

Freaky the Scary Snowman, the grimacing, evil soul with a carrot nose and an act made by pranksters has returned for his third year to frighten people on the streets of Boston. When you place a hat on the head of the scary snowman, he doesn't dance; he startles people and occasionally passes wind.

A warning: Evil snowmen make some people swear.

Even the police are chuckling in the latest video of the snowman created by RipFilms, which has been viewed more than 159,000 times on YouTube.

In past years, Freaky has scared pedestrians in Providence, Rhode Island, where it sent teens screaming and drew intrigued residents to investigate the strange, other-wordly being impersonating a Christmas character.

The snowman's most popular video to date was uploaded on Dec. 3, 2011 — Freaky's first creepy year — and the prank has since led to scary snowman bobble heads, T-shirts and even an instructional video for making a cake, if you would like one.

The man inside the suit is known as RedHeadFlute.
