Must-see videos of the week: Jan. 19-25

It's been another week of chilly weather here, so this week's must-see videos take a step back to appreciate the beauty of winter, dream about warmer beaches and introduce a creative activity you can do inside. Throw in a cool music video and a dramatic rescue in Syria, and these are five videos you just can't miss from the last seven days:

Timelapse of New Jersey snowstorm

Collingswood, N.J., resident Thomas Finer set up a camera to capture a time lapse view of a recent impending snowstorm. He let it roll for 24 hours and managed to capture this mesmerizing footage of his front yard and street transforming some bare grass into a winter wonderland.

Corgi puppy defends his territory

At SoCal Corgi Beach Day in Huntington Beach, Calif., things can get a little crowded. So if you find that perfect spot, chances are you'll defend it like Fawkes here does from the insistent Ziggy. Watch as the two scrap it out over Fawkes' comfy, cozy hole in the sand.

One-Handed Push-Ups While Solving Rubik's Cube

YouTube user cyotheking can do two things I cannot: perform one-handed pushups and solve a Rubik's Cube. Even more impressive, he can do both things at the same time, as shown in this video that was uploaded earlier this week. Don't feel too bad if you can't solve a Rubik's Cube as fast as this guy, though. According to his YouTube channel, he's a multi-record holder when it comes to solving Rubik's Cubes.

Singer retouched in real time through music video

There's been lots of buzz this week around the photoshopping of models, especially since the appearance of Girls star Lena Dunham in Vogue. Hungarian musician Boggie is jumping into the conversation with a music video for her song Nouveau Parfum.
Boggie's appearance is touched up in real time in the music video, showing right before your eyes what a difference a little image-editing skill can make in the images we see on TV and in magazines.

Child rescued from rubble in Syria's largest city Aleppo

Amidst the ongoing fighting in Syria's second-largest city, Aleppo, a child became trapped underneath rubble in the city's eastern al-Ma'saranieh district. This video, uploaded by activists in Syria on Jan. 22, appears to show that the child survived the traumatic experience and while visibly upset, seems to be largely unharmed. Activists report that there were multiple strikes in the area that day and other children were not so fortunate.
