Russian man sets himself on fire, jumps off apartment building into a pile of snow

So apparently there’s a Russian daredevil – it probably wouldn’t be a stretch to call him a Jackass-wannabe – named Alexandr Chernikov, who likes performing stunts and uploading the videos to YouTube.

His latest stunt might be a step too far.

In a video uploaded this weekend, Chernikov actually set himself on fire and jumped off the roof of an apartment building into nothing but a pile of snow below.

The building appears to be nine storeys tall, and before taking the plunge, Chernikov says it’s 30 metres.

Unfortunately for the aspiring daredevil, the stunt didn’t quite go without a hitch.

According to reports, Chernikov had to be hospitalized with burns. And the gathering crowd caught the attention of the local police detachment, so Chernikov was swiftly handcuffed and arrested once it was confirmed that he was still breathing.

He also recorded the jump from his perspective with a hand-held camera.

You’ve got to think there’s a better way to garner attention these days.

Of course, it wasn't the first time he'd jumped off a building.
