Shark jumps out of water to steal woman’s first fish catch

Sarah Brame jumped backward on the dock after a bull shark jumped out of the water right in front of her

Unsuspecting people were fishing on a dock in South Carolina when they got quite the surprise.

Sarah Brame was trying to reel in her first fish when a shark came out of nowhere and snatched her catch.

"I was actually kind of scared because I seen it jump and actually thought it could jump up here and get me," she told local station WPDE. "Because the tide was all the way up, and it was probably three feet below me."

William Moore caught the whole thing on camera while filming his fiancé fish during an outing with her and her step-father, Van Hughes, in the rain. The family estimates the shark was about four to six feet long and weighed more than 200 pounds.

But the story doesn't end with the video. The men later caught the shark using chum as bait, but had to let it go because — similar to Brody, Quint and Hooper in the movie Jaws — they realized they needed a bigger boat.

"We needed a bigger boat and a bigger net," said Hughes to WPDE. "I just wanted to touch it. Put my hands on it and let it go."

The family is hoping to catch the shark again.
