She’s too sexy for her name: Sheila wants to legally change name to Sexy

A woman wearing a Sexy t-shirt.

Sure, we all want to be sexy. Who doesn’t?

Ranea Crabtree of Licking County, Ohio, has taken this statement all too literally. She wants to legally change her name to Sexy.

So … let me get this straight: Sexy from Licking County. Is anyone else hearing this right? Go ahead, take a moment to laugh out loud at this one.

I am just not sure she’s thinking this through. If she thought her original name “Ranea” was bad, “Sexy” is so much worse.

So what’s with the sudden need for a name change? Crabtree says she has always hated her birth name, Sheila — which is why she actually goes by her middle name, Ranea.

“It’s just one of those names I can’t stand,” she says. “… and my husband calls me sexy all the time.” (He’s your husband, that’s his duty!)

Crabtree is so adamant about the name change that she has taken her request to court, petitioning to have her name legally changed to Sexy. She has filled out all the necessary paperwork, put a 30-day notice in the paper and dished out the $87 court fee.

Clearly, Sexy means business.

On Feb. 11, Sheila Crabtree will stand in front of a Licking County judge in hopes that her name change will legally be granted.

If she is not granted the name Sexy, she said she would settle for Sparkle instead. Maybe Rainbow Bright was already taken …
