A brief but explosive video of Toronto Mayor Rob Ford threatening to murder an unknown person has been obtained by two Toronto newspapers.
The Toronto Star and the Toronto Sun both reported on Thursday having viewed a minute-long video of an agitated Ford talking about killing someone.
The Star has released a copy of the video, viewable here, during which Ford can be seen pacing and saying, "I'm going to kill that f--king guy. I'm telling you, it's first-degree murder."
The entire tirade is captured on video, during which Ford is speaking at a rapid pace, gesticulating wildly and pacing around a living room.
Ford recently admitted to smoking crack cocaine on one occasion.
The context of the comments is not clear. But in the undated video, obtained by the Star from an unidentified source, Ford goes on at length about what he would do to an unnamed person.
He also makes mention of someone who has called himself and his brothers liars and thieves.
“I’ll rip his f--king throat out. I’ll poke his eyes out. . . . I’ll make sure that motherf--ker’s dead,” he can be heard saying. Someone else in the room can be heard saying, "These guys are pros, buddy."
