Time is ticking in search for missing Timothy Bosma

The mother of missing Hamilton man Tim Bosma spoke to the public today

Investigators searching for missing Ontario man Timothy Bosma said last week that all they could do was "hold out hope" that he would be found alive.

It had already been days – now it has been a week – since Bosma disappeared after leaving home on a test drive with two men who had called him about buying his truck. No good news had been found, only clues about who the men might be and where the truck might have gone.

After a weekend of seemingly positive steps forward, the investigation does not seem to be anywhere closer to finding the missing father.

We still have to hold out hope, but it is getting harder, not easier, to believe Bosma's disappearance has a happy ending.

CBC News reports that Bosma's black Dodge Ram truck was recovered on Sunday. It was found outside the home of Dellen Millard, a Toronto man who had been arrested over the weekend in connection to his disappearance last week.

Millard is believed to be one of two men who contacted Bosma through an online advertisement, purportedly to purchase the truck.

According to Bosma's family, he hasn't been seen since taking the two men out of a test drive late Monday evening.

Bosma, a private contractor in the construction industry, is described as blonde with blue eyes. He is the father of a two-year-old daughter and is at the centre of a loving and dedicated family.

"My heart is broken," his mother, Mary Bosma, said on Sunday. "On this Mother's Day, my wish is to get my son home safe with us."

In recent days police have arrested one of the suspects in Bosma's disappearance, recovered what is believed to be Bosma's truck, and located Bosma's cell phone.

Still, no Bosma. Police have received more than 300 tips from the public. The investigation has spanned across southern Ontario and no doubt has involved interrogating the arrested suspect.

Yet Bosma hasn't been found.

"[O]ur greatest priority is the welfare and locating of Tim Bosma," Hamilton police Supt. Dan Kinsella said in his latest public statement.

That was two days ago. We still have to hold out hope. But time is not on our side.
