Vancouver riot kiss becomes latest photo meme

As the identities of the lovers in the now-famous Vancouver riot kiss photo emerged Friday, altered versions of the image began popping up on social networks.

Australian Scott Jones and his Canadian girlfriend Alex Thomas became overnight celebrities after the striking photo made headlines worldwide.

The couple reportedly got caught between police and rioters and Thomas was injured. Jones sought to comfort her with a kiss. The rest is history.

Now, Photoshop buffs are making the kiss the next big photo meme, following other recent photo-mashup sensations such as the Osama bin Laden situation room picture, Princess Beatrice's royal wedding hat and the "Stop Harper" sign.
