Hailing frequencies open, Captain: William Shatner tweets with Chris Hadfield
William Shatner — Star Trek's original Captain Kirk — opened up a twitter conversation with Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield yesterday.
The exchange was brief, just question-asked and question-answered, but Hadfield could not have chosen a more perfect reply to the man who was one of his childhood heroes.

Hadfield has already created a bit of a Twitter stir by tweeting photographs of Canadian cities from space, most recently a snap of Montreal from his new home at the International Space Station:
And he's also recorded the first original song from space.
He's definitely doing Canada proud.
