This past June, photographer Joe Capra spent 17 days in Iceland, taking 38,000 photographs of "the most beautiful place on earth" as he traveled 2,900 miles solo, capturing the midnight sun.
The midnight sun is a natural phenomenon that occurs in the summer months near the Arctic and Antarctic circles during which the sun can be seen at the local midnight. The sun doesn't fully set, remaining visible for 24 hours a day.
"Iceland is a landscape photographers paradise and playground, and should be number 1 on every photographers must visit list. Iceland during the Midnight Sun is in sort of a permanent state of sunset," Capra wrote.
