Nine-year-old Skylar Johnson hadn't seen her dad since Christmas.

When her father, Staff Sgt. Therron Johnson, returned from Iraq for a short nine-day visit, he worked with Skylar's elementary school to give her the surprise of a lifetime.

Boca Raton Elementary School set up a ruse: a spelling bee in which Skylar would be asked to spell "sergeant."
