Mystery dog ‘Mr. B’ shows up with letter, a bit of cash and finds a good home

It's a heartwarming tearjerker and a bit of a mystery.

Last week, Paul Wu of Kirkland, Wash., found a strange dog in his driveway. It wouldn't go away.

A letter and some money were folded inside a pouch hanging from the dog's neck. The letter read:

"Please take care of Mr. B. He is a King Charles Cavalier Spaniel. Six years old. My parents got divorced and Mr. B was supposed to go to the pound. I think he has a better chance with you. This is my birthday money for any of his care. He is used to kids, not other dogs. He's a good boy. I know God will take care of Mr. B — Everyone loves him . . . especially me. Thank you."

Wu brought the pup to work with him where a coworker felt compelled to help. Robert Kuchcinski, a father of three, brought Mr. B home to live with his family.

"I'd hate to be a kid making that choice," Kuchcinski said. "It didn't seem right that it would go to the pound."

As no one signed the note, Wu and Kuchcinski are talking to local media with the hope that Mr. B's kindhearted owner gets word the dog is in good hands.

"All I want to do is let this person know, that we found him a good home. That's the whole message," Wu told King 5 News.

The father of this kid should give him back twice the money, and be proud of his son!

I found this story very inspiring. You may not see it, but children usually make far better decisions than adults because they are younger and more innocent. Adults need to face the fact that sometimes it's best to shut up and listen, because maybe you aren't "wiser" than your child. In the words of Oscar Wilde, "Experience is simply the name we give our mistakes."

These parents are self centred and losers. They are lucky to have a thoughtful and caring child. Too bad he couldn't send his parents to the pound. B

Sweet kid, parents are morons - how dare they ditch the one thing the kid loved and would comfort him during his parent's divorce. Poor kid!!! Hope his parents are exposed on the news for the unfeeling losers they truly are.

Sad, but in a bad economy, hard choices sometimes have to be made. Hope the dog finds another family to love and care for him.

First evenhanded comment I've seen on here. Noone knows the whole story although it does seem unfair.

Why did the dog have to go to the pound in the first place?

That's some awesome parenting. We're splitting up the family and, oh yeah... Mr B's going to the pound. Just in case you weren't heart broken enough.

I will never understand families that abandon their pets because of their own issues like divorce. It definitely makes me believe that this child was more intelligent than its own parents. What a horrible choice for a child to have to make.

this is why children can change the world, there hearts mostly are so pure, I hope that other people learn from this, and the childs parents should be proud but as well ashamed with themselves knowing that a child knows better than to stick there poor animal in a pound due to there own problems. The kid is strong for giving up something he loves so dearly.
