Ohio woman offers beer and cigarettes as reward for dog’s return — it works

Abby Miller and her dog, Zoro.

On January 2, Abigail Miller's dogs, Zoro and Ajna, went missing from her front yard.

A few days later, Miller found Ajna at a local animal shelter. Zoro was nowhere to be found.

Miller, 23, who works at a Dayton, Ohio Submarine House, posted flyers at the restaurant and her local grocery store, offering a case of beer and pack of cigarettes — something she could afford which she hoped would help the flier attract attention — as a reward for Zoro's return.

It worked.

Ten days after Zoro escaped from Miller's yard, a man who had seen the flyer called Miller and told her that he recently encountered a couple with dog they said they'd found wandering in Dayton's Oregon District. The dog matched Zoro's description.

On Sunday, Miller was reunited with Zoro at the home of the couple the good Samaritan described.

The man refused the reward, but Miller told the Dayton Daily News that she'll be treating him to a meal at the bar and grill where she works.
