A mistyped email address brought two strangers together in January 2007.
Ruben P. Salazar, who was living in Waco, Texas, received an email intended for a Rachel P. Salazar. He noticed the obvious typo in the address and forwarded the message along with a short note to the stranger named Rachel, 9,000 miles away in Bangkok.
She responded.
His message began "an email chain that led to a marriage proposal."
Today, Ruben and Rachel's love story is told by StoryCorps, the non-profit organization that animates and preserves Americans' life stories.
See how a typo led to love below in "To RP Salazar, With Love," narrated by the couple.
The Salazars' story is included in StoryCorps new book, All There Is: Love Stories from StoryCorps, which hits shelves on Feb. 2.
