U.S. veteran’s makeover transforms a life, goes viral

Homeless Army veteran turns his life around after a makeover.

Just in time for Remembrance Day, Dégagé Ministries, a non-profit centre that aims to transforms the lives of veterans "inside and out," is sharing a touching video of a homeless veteran's makeover.

United States Army Veteran Jim Wolf was given what at first seems to be a superficial helping hand: a haircut, dye job and new suit.

His incredible physical transformation, however, inspired him to take control of his own life.

According to the video, after struggling with poverty, homelessness and alcoholism for decades, Wolf is "now scheduled to have his own housing and is attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings for the first time ever."

"Serving 400-500 individuals daily, Dégagé Ministries offers help and hope to homeless and disadvantaged individuals in our community. Responsive programming is designed to address immediate and long-term needs such as overnight respite for women in crisis, food, referral services and hygiene facilities," the non-profit posted on its fundraising page.

"While many of our services may seem 'simple,' those who receive our services take nothing for granted. Often, it is the simplest of gestures that brings the most powerful results."
