Volunteers form human wall to guide baby turtles to sea

On July 1, more than 100 loggerhead sea turtles hatched on the Caribbean island of Bonaire.

To ensure the tiny turtles safely made their way to sea — they hatched near the airport and conservationists were concerned they'd be disoriented by light pollution — volunteers and Sea Turtle Conservation Bonaire Beachkeepers formed a human wall to create a defined path for them.

An image of the effort went viral on Reddit.

The event was also captured on camera. Watch their cute water entry below:

Sea Turtle Conservation Bonaire (STCB) reported that 112 sea turtles made it to sea, thanks to the human wall.

A 113th turtle was discovered trapped in the nest.

"He or she just needed one night of 'special care' from STCB before release from the same beach as his brothers and sisters the night before," the turtle conservationists wrote.
