3DCone turns iPhone into 3D camera

At first sight, the 3DCone appears to convert your iPhone into a pylon-themed air horn hybrid, but this neat smartphone add-on actually allows users to take 3D pictures and stills.

The snap-on accessory from Saturn3Designs transforms the iPhone 4 and 4S into a stereoscopic camera. Check it out in the video below:

A mirror in the cone splits your camera field in two to capture left and right sides from different angles and enhance the 3D effect.

3D photos and videos are becoming somewhat of a new standard and rumours surrounding the upcoming iPhone 5 suggest Apple's newest smartphone will include a 3D camera and display.

What do you think? Are you interested in a 3D camera for your iPhone? And if so, will you check out the 3DCone or wait for the iPhone 5 to be released in September? Let us know in the comments below.
