The weather might be turning dreary outside, but at Monday's red carpet premiere of "The Details," it was springtime all over again. Well, as long as Kerry Washington was around, anyway.
The 35-year-old actress -- known for her roles in "Ray," "Save the Last Dancem" and ABC's "Scandal" -- shined bright in a neon-hued halter dress at Hollywood's ArcLight Cinemas. Her oriental vase-inspired shiftfrock, detailed with a bold graphic pattern featuring yellow birds, a countryside scene, pink flowers and other geometric shapes, was a standout against her co-stars Tobey Maguire, Ray Liotta, Dennis Haysbert, and Bellamy Young, who all donned deeper, subtle fall tones like burgundy, taupe, and grey.Jason LaVeris/FilmMagic
Washington kept the rest of her styling simple, opting for sparkly black heels, a black clutch, and small diamond hoops. Anything more extravagant surely would have sent this one-of-a-kind look from a spring meadow into the loony bin.
"The Details" is a dark comedy directed by Jacob Aaron Estes, following a married couple (Maguire and Elizabeth Banks) whose lives take unexpected turns after a group of raccoons discover a feast of worms living underneath their lawn. From the sounds of it, the tone of this comedy won't be nearly as cheery as Washington's festive frock.
