A 21-year-old Bragg Creek man has been charged with drug trafficking after police seized a small quantity of ecstasy, MDMA and LSD.
MDMA is sometimes called ecstasy on the street, referring to branded pills and often thought to be a "dirtier" version because it can contain unknown substances.
Police say it amounted to about $2,000 worth of drugs. They say tests are being done to see whether the ecstasy contains paramethoxymethamphetamine (PMMA), a toxic drug linked to several deaths in the Calgary area.
James Wellesley Briscoe will appear in court on Monday.
Bragg Creek is located roughly 50 kilometres west of Calgary.
