Brandon Wheat Kings in must-win situation at Memorial Cup

Tonight could be the last chance for Brandon Wheat Kings fans to see their team in action as tonight's game is a must win at the 2016 Memorial Cup in Red Deer, Alta.

The Wheaties are currently 0-2 at the tournament after being swept 9-1 by the London Knights on Monday evening and falling 5-3 to Rouyn-Noranda on Saturday.

The WHL champions have to beat the host Red Deer Rebels tonight to stay in the tournament.

"I thought London played extremely well and they were just better in all of those aspects of the game you have to be good at this time of year," Wheat Kings coach Kelly McCrimmon said in a post-game press conference posted on the Memorial Cup website. "I think it's disappointing... Those two teams that we've played have played us really well.

Fans gathered at the Keystone Centre's Manitoba Room on Saturday and Monday to cheer on the Wheaties and enjoy food and drinks. The Hockey House, as it's been named, will again be open Wednesday evening for fans.

A group of fans also travelled to Alberta to watch the Wheat Kings in person.

Puck drop in tonight's game is 7 p.m. CDT. The Keystone Centre will be open to fans two hours prior.
