Bryan Adams set for Canadian arena-rock tour

Though Bryan Adams has popped up on various stages in recent years, fans will get to see the veteran rocker in arena shows this summer as he embarks on a full-fledged cross-Canada tour.

The Ontario-born, B.C.-raised rocker's upcoming tour will get underway in St. John's on April 11 and conclude in Winnipeg on June 22. It's being billed as his first arena-rock tour in two decades.

Over the past few years, 52-year-old Adams has favoured stripped-down acoustic performances delivered in Canada, Europe and the U.S. as part of his Bare Bones Tour.

Adams first rose to fame as the singer behind a long string of rock hits and ballads, including Cuts Like a Knife, Run to You, Summer of '69, Heaven and When You're Gone.

A member of the Order of Canada, the Canadian Music Hall of Fame and a multiple Juno-winner, Adams is also a popular musician internationally, having racked up no. 1 hits in more than 40 countries and toured through six continents. He as also developed a reputation for his photography, including shooting the cover image used for the recent posthumous Amy Winehouse album.

He welcomed his first child in April 2011 when he and Alicia Grimaldi, his personal assistant, had a baby girl.
