Some might think rappelling down the side of a tall building is scary enough, but imagine doing it in a wheelchair.
That’s what Dominic Shaw did Thursday afternoon.
Shaw had a spinal stroke when he was two years old. He had to use leg braces and crutches, but now, uses a wheelchair to get around.
On Thursday afternoon, he rappelled down the Sunlife Plaza.
"I live in a building with 17 floors, so I think every day of the last month I’ve looked out and go, ‘OK, it's double this height.’"
Shaw rappelled 30 stories down to the ground to the cheers of a large crowd.
He is now the first wheelchair-bound person to ever rappel in Calgary’s Easter Seals Drop.
