Cars ablaze outside St. John's garage early Thursday morning
The St. John's Regional Fire Department was called to a fire at a garage on Merrymeeting Road Thursday morning.
Firefighters arrived around 2 a.m. to find two vehicles burning outside C & C Automotive.
Fire captain Rick Mackey said he could identify one of the vehicles as a Volkswagen.
Mackey said it was a difficult fire to fight, and crews had to use both foam and water to extinguish the blaze.
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is investigating Thursday's fire, as well as another fire in a parking lot on the same street last week.
