The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary has released security video that displays an aggressive knife-point robbery at a fish-and-chips restaurant, in hopes of catching the thief.
The video shows the robber running into a Ches's outlet on Commonwealth Avenue in Mount Pearl around 1 a.m. on Jan. 14.
His face covered, the thief then pulled a knife and threatened the employee who was forced into the back of the fast-food restaurant.
The thief escaped through the rear of the restaurant.
No one was hurt in the incident.
The RNC's dog unit assisted patrol officers in the investigations. Forensics experts have also been involved.
Police are hoping the video will prompt a report either directly to the RNC to the anonymous Crime Stoppers line at 1-800-222-8477.
