Clear night at Montreal's Nuit Blanche

Thousands of people took part in Montreal's ninth Nuit Blanche Saturday night.

The all-night event capped the week-long Montreal Highlights Festival.

More than 170 indoor and outdoor activities were on offer across the city at museums, art galleries, dance studios, and in the street.

This year's Nuit Blanche included an outdoor penguin installation at the Biodome.

At city hall, a swing dance party drew hundreds of people.

The metro system was open all night to accommodate Nuit Blanche revellers.
