Come on down: Tickets sold out for Price is Right in St. John's

If you got tickets to The Price is Right Live in St. John's when they went on sale Friday, you could be the next contestant, but there were a few disappointed fans after tickets sold out in just minutes.

The show is coming to St. John's on Nov. 12, sans Drew Carey, but featuring a live host, games and — of course — prizes.

Melanie King, 17, was one of the lucky fans to get her tickets at Mile One Centre.

"I'm so excited, I cannot wait. We came down here at 9:30 to line up for the box office opening at 12," she said.

"My mom's been watching it since before I was even born, but I started watching it and I love it. I fall in love with it every day I watch it."

King purchased three tickets, one for herself and two others for her mom and a friend, but said she felt bad for the people waiting in line who couldn't get theirs.

People like Vincent Price, who got in line just before 11 a.m.

"There's no tickets left, as soon as they went online, they were gone right away. We were like the 11th person in line," said Price.

"We were at the terminal at two minutes after, so they were gone right away."

Price, who's been a fan of the show since he was eight years old, said he was disappointed he couldn't get tickets.

"I'll have to go down south to get some tickets," he said.

Andrew Bennett was able to get six tickets for himself and his family and he's hoping to get a chance to spin the big wheel.

"It's a dream just to go see the show, let alone get a chance to get on it. I can't wait," said Bennett.

"I'd love to win a trip, maybe to Vegas."

The Price is Right Live will be hitting cities across the United States and Canada through the fall and winter months.
