Coyote run over purposely by Moncton RCMP

RCMP in Moncton, N.B., say they purposefully ran over a coyote with a police vehicle on Tuesday because that was the safest way to deal with the situation.

A call came in at around 11:40 a.m. AT that a coyote was wandering around the downtown near Highfield and Main streets.

It was later seen near Victoria Park and the Via Rail station, before heading into a residential area.

When police located the animal they said it was going into backyards and onto patios. Around noon, they ran down the coyote. Police said it could not be shot safely.
