Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher have announced they are ending their marriage after six years together.
Moore, 49, told Access Hollywood on Thursday that she's plans to divorce Kutcher, 33, and has "great sadness and a heavy heart."
"As a woman, a mother and a wife, there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life," she said in a statement to Access .
Ashton also confirmed the split on Thursday, Tweeting, "I will forever cherish the time I spent with Demi. Marriage is one of the most difficult things in the world and unfortunately sometimes they fail. Love and Light, AK"
In September, amid spiraling rumors of trouble between the couple and allegations of infidelity, the "Two and a Half Men" star Tweeted a link to Public Enemy's 1988 hit, "Don't Believe the Hype," on his Spotify account and also wrote, "When you ASSUME to know that which you know nothing of you make an ASS out of U and ME."
At the time, Demi also spoke out on Twitter with a cryptic message.
"When we are offended at any man's fault, turn to yourself & study your own failings. Then you will forget your anger. -Epictetus," she wrote at the time.
Last month, Sara Leal, 22, the woman at the center of Kutcher's alleged affair, spoke out to both Us Weekly and the UK's The Sun newspaper, claiming she had sex with the actor on the stars' sixth wedding anniversary at San Diego's Hard Rock Hotel on September 23.
Leal claimed that she and a friend got naked in a hot tub with Kutcher, and later, he hinted he was interested in a threesome. After her trip to the bathroom, Leal claimed her friend left and she had unprotected sex with Kutcher.
"He was good," she told Us. "We weren't, like, making love, but it wasn't weird or perverted."
Demi and Ashton tied the knot in 2005 after two years of dating.
